Getting around is easiest by taxi, ride-hailing app or a rented scooter, and the hotel hires out bicycles for shorter hops. The dry season, roughly April to October, brings the most reliable sunshine and the best conditions for the beach and beginner surf lessons; the wetter months from November to March see heavier afternoon downpours. For anything further afield — Seminyak, Legian or the Bukit Peninsula — reckon on a short drive north or south along the coast.
